“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” —Jeremiah 29:11 nlt
“It is amazing how many people let life happen to them rather than asking God for wisdom in their decisions. He promises to give you wisdom and knowledge for everything you do. When you make a decision knowing that it is based on the wisdom of God, joy and peace cannot help but follow. “—Don Clowers
Wise and Gracious Father,
I thank you for the many ways you have led and directed me in my life. I am thankful for where I am in life because I know you have brought me here. I already have all the riches of your grace and that’s all that really matters. But now I have a new opportunity in front of me. It requires a lot of change and will affect the people closest to me.
I want to grow and be all that you want me to be. But that doesn’t mean every open door is the right door for me to walk through. I need you to speak to me now with your wisdom and direction. Even more importantly, I need you to help settle my mind and spirit so I can hear your voice. Your pathways lead to peace, so I pray for a sense of your peace, whether my answer needs to be yes or no.
Help me to think clearly through all the issues that this opportunity presents. I want to serve you and honor you in all my decisions. Since you have promised to order my steps, even if I don’t feel a clear cut impression from your spirit, I will make this decision with confidence, knowing that you honor a faithful heart.
Knowing that many people are looking for an opportunity, I thank you that this decision is in front of me. It is a reminder that you meet all my needs.
I commit this opportunity to you in Jesus’ name.
